I don't agree that saying " Good Boy" or "Good Job" will turn them into unhappy ...

A little hard to read, I think it needs organizational editing...but the concepts have helped me a lot with my 2 and 1/2 year old. I don't agree that saying " Good Boy" or "Good Job" will turn them into unhappy people pleasers. However when it came to dealing with tantrums and helping children choose cooperation, it helped us so much

Wonderful Ideology and Examples

I love this book and recommend it often! The only reason I give it a 4 is that chapter 11, which is supposed to show you how to apply the principals taught in the rest of the book, falls very very short in my opinion. It confused me. I feel that she contradicts herself. This chapter just does not fit with the rest of the book for me. That said, the majority of this book presents a lot of really great ideas that make total sense! The examples she gives throughout the book are also excellent and prove that there is practical application for these ideas even if the chapter dedicated to that purpose does not exemplify this fact.

These methods really work!

I loved this book and all the info contained therein. It makes sense in that it talks specifics about brain chemistry and hormone releasesto back up the time tested theories. I would recommend it to every parent, new or otherwise. If every parent would read this book, our next generation's potential would be limitless!
